About Me

Hi, my name is Amy Preston and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my master’s degree in mental health counseling in 2010 and have been licensed in Mississippi since 2013. I have worked in community mental health, children’s day treatment, nursing home facilities, IOP/PHP, and corrections. I help people create the life they desire. I recently decided recently to take my own advice and go into private practice so that I can use my gifts to truly help as many people as I can.

I work with adolescents and adults to help them develop healthier emotional regulation skills and a more positive mindset. This allows the individual to feel an improved connection to self and others, as well as, see a clear path for their life so that they can start to feel joy again. I work with people who are ready to make positive changes in their life and who are invested in their future. I find joy and fulfillment helping people achieve their goals. I incorporate CBT techniques, positive psychology, acceptance, mindfulness, and life coaching tools to help my client reach their personal goals, improve their mood, improve their daily functioning, increase their ability to manage difficult emotions, and develop a stronger belief in themselves. I believe each individual is more than a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. I believe in using a holistic approach to create lasting change. I will provide a safe and accepting space for you to explore what it is that is holding you back and help you develop a manageable action plan to break through those blocks. You are 100% worthy of your dreams and I am here to help you achieve them. I look forward to talking with you soon.
